Landscape Architecture

Ren was born and raised in Michigan, a place rich in water and lush forests. This inspired her to study Earth Sciences and Environmental Studies at the University of Michigan and work in the outdoor industry there. Eventually, Ren decided it was time to move west to live somewhere that better supported her adventurous lifestyle. After moving to Colorado, she pursued master's degrees in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at CU Denver, two fields that combined her passions for the environment, sustainability, design, and culture. Afterwards, she moved to Salt Lake City in 2025 to begin her career in a place with incredible outdoor access and abundant professional opportunities within a growing community. 

Outside the office, Ren gravitates toward pursuits that challenge both body and mind. She values movement and spending time outdoors, enjoying activities such as rock climbing, skiing, and circus arts. A certified dabbler with many ever-shifting interests, she's currently channeling her creative energy into pottery and DJing techno. Across all of these pursuits, she's motivated by the opportunity to learn, experiment, and see the world from a new perspective. Ren also deeply values connecting with others and intentionally invests in building community, both personally and professionally. 

Ren has a passion for the natural world; she believes our landscapes are what bind us together—the spaces where our independent lives collide and merge. As such, she is particularly interested in public projects: spaces that afford everyone the opportunity to connect, reflect their communities, and are rooted in place. Coming from a background in environmental sciences, Ren approaches design with a sensitivity to our impact and a deep consideration for our connection to nature. She is particularly drawn to parks, civic landscapes, and public spaces that strengthen community identity while improving ecological health and environmental sustainability.
