GSBS transformed an under-freeway remnant into a vibrant, durable community plaza shaped directly by neighborhood priorities. The resulting design organizes futsal courts, family-friendly play, and shaded seating within a simple geometric framework that’s easy to build, maintain, and adapt. Working within UDOT constraints, we specified robust, low-maintenance materials and integrated lighting, wayfinding, and landscape to improve comfort and safety. A phased roadmap delivers immediate benefits—striping, surfacing, seating—while laying groundwork for long-term enhancements as funding becomes available. The project turns a forgotten gap into an everyday destination, proving that small, strategic moves can unlock big social value.
