Architect LEVEL 3 – UTAH Office

GSBS Architects is an award-winning, inter-disciplinary design firm with a collaborative culture that supports career growth and advancement within the firm. 

We have an immediate opening, in our Salt Lake City Office, for a licensed architect with 10+ years of experience and strong design sensibility and technical modeling skills. A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution is required. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform the technical design, modeling, and documentation of high-end, custom residential projects, and other complex projects, in alignment with GSBS BIM standards

  • Present work to internal teams

  • Provide subject matter expertise on building types and architectural systems

  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff

  • Draft project specification, including Divisions 0 and 1

  • Coordinate with consultants to integrate architectural design and building systems

  • Organize and manage the development of construction documents to successful and timely delivery in alignment with GSBS BIM and drawing standards

  • Review bids and cost estimates and make recommendations to align project with budget

  • Respond to RFIs and review submittals during construction

  • Communicates complex information clearly and credibly to teams

  • Organizes design coordination, and deliverables effectively

  • Leads and maintains design integrity throughout project

  • Collaborates across design disciplines to achieve best outcomes

  • Proficient in Revit in Bluebeam, MS Word, and Excel. A Revit evaluation will be given as part of the hiring process for all but recent past employees of the firm. 

This is a part-time position for no more than 20 hours per week. Salary is competitive and dependent upon experience. GSBS values and prefers in-person collaboration but gives employees the flexibility to work from non-office locations when effective and coordinated with project, team, and firm needs.
