Brittain Corbett

PLANNER

An abandoned construction site, mounds of dirt, a backyard littered with leaves, and a basement with a bucket of LEGO pieces were all canvases for Brittain to design city layouts during his childhood in rural Kentucky. This passion for city planning and map making never vanished, even when his family moved to the Utah suburbs as a teenager. Finally, living away from family in Baltimore, Maryland and experiencing its urban fabric, public transportation, and diverse culture helped Brittain realize that he loves the intricacies of people, places, and how they interact. He enthusiastically returned to Utah to start his career and find his next canvas.

Before joining the GSBS planning team, Brittain worked for multiple cities managing administrative maps, reviewing business license and building permit applications, and presenting city code amendments. He has earned an associate’s degree in surveying and mapping, and a bachelor’s degree in public administration and policy from Utah Valley University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in city and metropolitan planning from the University of Utah. Brittain contributes to multiple projects with an engaged, considerate, and inquisitive mindset . He sees each project as an opportunity to learn something new and build upon his capabilities as a placemaking professional.

When Brittain is not at the office, you can expect to see him at a farmer’s market, riding TRAX, on his e-bike, or trying a new cocktail either from a unique speakeasy or his home bar. During his downtime, he loves to build LEGO sets, play video games, collect model trains, make friends at raves, and sleep.
