GSBS was master planner, architect, landscape architect, and interior designer for the Intermountain Health Care (IHC) office campus in the Lake Park Corporate Center. Phase 1 of this project is 250,000 s.f. of State of the Art, Class A office space with an adjacent/attached base isolated 20,000 s.f. data center located on 25 acres. The project is designed to seismic zone 4 standards, in anticipation of a future seismic zone increase for areas along the Wasatch fault. Enclosed offices, conference rooms and support spaces are located in the 30 foot core bay and along the short end walls, allowing maximum penetration of natural light into the floor plate. Indirect lighting systems were used throughout the building to minimize computer screen glare and to create a more uniform and psychologically pleasing lighting condition. The design incorporates a zone-based wiring system for data and communication, again facilitating the flexibility of IHC's furniture system. The office components of the project are split into two separate structures linked by an atrium commons. The atrium serves as the public entrance to the complex, the dining area for the employee cafeteria and the vertical circulation core. A ceremonial stair provides both a sculptural focus for the atrium and the primary circulation method for employees. By centralizing the vertical circulation, fewer elevators were required to provide the specified performance level.
