Azy was born and raised in Isfahan, Iran.  At age 7, she moved to Singapore where she spent her childhood and teenage years. At age 15, fascinated with building design, hand sketching and oil painting, Azy decided to combine her interests and pursue architecture.

When applying for colleges, she looked across the big pond in the USA and Canada.  At that point her, father decided to move the whole family across the pond and they landed in Utah. In 2003, she graduated from the University of Utah with her Bachelors of Science in Architecture.

After working at a small non-profit community design center, she was hired by former founding principal Stephen Smith on Veteran’s day 2004. Azy is proud to still be here and learning new things every day.

Despite her first impressions of Salt Lake City—not a big busy city—Azy now enjoys the more quiet, slow nature of Salt Lake.  She also enjoys travelling to new and exciting places.
