PLANNER Level 1 (3+ YEaRS EXPERIENCE) - Utah Office
GSBS Architects is an award-winning, inter-disciplinary design and planning firm with a collaborative culture that supports career growth and advancement within the firm. We have an immediate opening, in our Salt Lake City Office, for a Planner with an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning, geography or closely related field and 3+ years of experience in a professional planning or consulting environment.
Responsibilities include the following:
Create, analyze, and visualize geospatial information to enhance the understanding and analysis of socio-economic, demographic, and planning information, and data
Identify and gather socio-economic, demographic, and planning data to conduct technical analyses
Assist with management tasks including the development of the project’s scope of work, schedule, coordination, and participation in client meetings
Summarize and convey a variety of methodologies and findings using text, graphs, and tables
Develop and prepare information for public consumption and outreach materials including maps, charts, graphs, text, and infographics
Participate in stakeholder and public outreach meetings to answer questions, generate input, and document feedback
Summarize and convey comments and input from various meetings into clear and concise planning documents
Assist with marketing/business development and proposal writing
Competencies include:
Organizing information clearly
Communicating clearly with project teams and community members
Working on and completing tasks independently
Assisting in producing technical reports, diagrams, and analysis
Strong writing skills
Working in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Working with ESRI ArcGIS
Database analysis
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Candidates should have working knowledge of public engagement software (Social Pinpoint).
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. Salary is competitive and dependent upon experience. GSBS values and prefers in-person collaboration but gives employees the flexibility to work from non-office locations at times and when effective and coordinated with project, team, and firm needs. Candidates must be willing to work evening and weekend hours when needed to attend community engagement events.
